Company Description:

At Experis, we are currently recruiting for a Tax Accounting Analyst, for our client, a very reputable, privately held financial services firm located in Southern Connecticut. This direct hire opportunity is a diverse role, in a pleasant office environment.  We are seeking a tax accountant with 2 years of corporate tax experience.  Prior accounting experience is a plus.  The role will focus on a broad range of recurring tax functions, for a small department. 
The role entails: 

• Prepare US corporate federal, state and local income tax returns, including Forms 5471, 5472 and 8865.
• Prepare Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns.
• Prepare various other miscellaneous income tax returns.
  • Work with accounting and finance departments to gather information necessary to prepare tax returns and complete special projects.  .
• Strategic planning, forecasting and analysis of projections. 
• Research and documentation
• Assist with the preparation for various tax audits
• Process returns and maintenance of files (electronic and paper)

 
Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting OR Bachelor’s degree with a Master’s degree in taxation
  • 2 years of experience in a corporate tax department and/or public accounting firm with tax preparation experience, including experience associated with the corporate tax compliance function and knowledge of federal and state tax concepts
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of financial accounting

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, and documentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time and various daily requirements
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and / or other similar software
  • Experience with various tax preparation and research tools (i.e., CCH Prosystems, Checkpoint), strongly preferred
